Day trip to Sewerby

on

Hessle Beavers have had a fantastic day out at Sewerby and Bridlington.  We traveled by train from Hull to Bridlington (with many thanks to Northern Rail for their assistance), and then walked from the railway station to the land train on the sea front, where we climbed aboard for a trip up to Sewerby Hall and Gardens.  We looked around the zoo, watching out for any endangered animals as part of our Global Issues activity badge.  We had a picnic lunch in the sunshine, followed by a bit of orienteering around the park. We then took the land train half way back to Bridlington, had an ice cream and then walked the rest of the way along the beach, cooling our tired feet in the sea.  We then returned to the railway station, clocking up over 3 miles on a very warm day – a long way for little legs!
