Cub DIY Badge Day

Cherokee and Arapaho Cubs took part in the County Cub Badge day, where they completed all the critieria to achieve their DIY activity badge. They made key holder, planes, string art, coasters and photo holders, using the necessary tools safely. They also had fun on the bouldering wall, agility trail and grass sledges.

Fells Marathon – Scout Winners

Wolds Challenge

The Wolds Challenge is a one day hiking competition for Scouts and Explorers. The event is a test of navigation, route finding and team work, as well as a walking challenge. Harvest Festival

Group Camp 2019

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

Apache Scouts – Survival Skills

The Apache Scouts spent the evening learning Knife/Axe and Saw skills as part of the Scout survival badge. Apache scout Pioneering projects 11/05/16

The Scouts had a night of pioneering, using poles and garden canes they built camp gadgets, practicing, ready for the Group camp in July. Wash stands and clothes driers were made in various configurations using traditional scouting knots.

Backwoods Cooking on Hessle Foreshore 04/05/16

Apache Scouts had a night of ‘Backwoods Cooking’ on the Hessle foreshore. The scouts split in to teams and prepared their fires, looking at all aspects of preparation,  fire lighting and cooking on open fires. Camp fire fork (Creative) 23/03/16

Apache Scouts – Christmas Dinner

Apache Scouts celebrated their first Christmas in style. Working within their patrols and using different cooking methods, they worked together to plan, coordinate and cook a Christmas dinner for us all. Turkey, roast potatoes, sausages and bacon, stuffing, carrots and Yorkshire puddings as well as gravy was on the menu, there was even room for pudding….
