CHIEF SCOUT SILVER AWARD

Congratulations to four Cherokee Cubs Alex, Connor, Ethan and Ewan on achieving their Chief Scout Silver Award.  Also to Ewan for being our Cub of the Term for Autumn 2017.  All were presented with their awards by Paul our GSL.

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK

KHEDRUBJE KADAMPA BUDDHIST CENTRE

As part of their World Challenge and World Faith Badges, Cherokee Cubs visited our local Buddhist Centre.  They discovered lots of interesting facts about Buddhism and the history of the centre, as well as doing some meditation.  A big thanks to Neil for sharing all this information with us.

MINECRAFT MISSION

CHEROKEE DIY

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

Last weekend some members of Apache Scouts and Cherokee Cubs attended the first of the Backyard Wildlife Workshops run by Anna from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.  An excellent morning making bird boxes and bird food.  Looking forward to the next workshop on Saturday building hedgehog houses and painting tyre planters to brighten up the garden…

HESSLE FEAST

Cherokee Play Baseball

Cherokee Cubs had a fun evening playing baseball this week.  After learning a few basic skills, they split into teams and played in a mini tournament.  A big thank you to Hessle Rugby Club for allowing us to use their facilities, and Hull Scorpions Baseball Club for coaching the players and providing the equipment.

District Camp Craft Competition

Arapaho and Cherokee Cubs took part in the Blacktoft Beacon District Camp Craft Competition.   Eleven teams from all over the district competed using their skills in knot tying, map reading, fire lighting, orienteering, first aid, putting up tents, packing rucksacks and following trails.  Well done to the Arapaho B team finishing in third place…

Cherokee Creativity

Cherokee Cubs demonstrated their creative flair whilst preparing Mother’s Day gifts at Saramique Studio.  Lots of colourful creations, that we can’t wait to see once Kenny the Kiln has worked his magic on them.

Summer Walk

The cubs finished the term with a summer hike from Brantingham to South Cave. They went uphill & down dale in the glorious evening sunshine. We completed the evening with chocolate & drinks, awarded badges and said farewell to Ethan, Oliver & David,( Charlotte & Grace in their absence) who were moving upto Scouts.
