What a weekend!  Apache Scouts won the Scout Camp Craft Competition at Tablers Wood.  They had a full weekend of challenges to complete, and managed them all.  They also ran their own camp, setting everything up, cooking all their own meals, keeping everything tidy and camped without a leader.  The team of five were fantastic…

Apache Scouts – Survival Skills

The Apache Scouts spent the evening learning Knife/Axe and Saw skills as part of the Scout survival badge. Backwoods Cooking on Hessle Foreshore 04/05/16

Apache Scouts had a night of ‘Backwoods Cooking’ on the Hessle foreshore. The scouts split in to teams and prepared their fires, looking at all aspects of preparation,  fire lighting and cooking on open fires. Apache Scouts completed an evening walk and navigation refresher, walking from Brantingham (Church) and finishing on Dale Road, Elloughton. Thanks to all of the parent helpers who assisted with the walk.

Camp fire fork (Creative) 23/03/16

The Apache Scouts constructed ‘Camp fire forks’ which assisted them in completing part of their creative badge, but more importantly it also assisted them in eating lots of hot dogs and marshmallows. Apache Scouts – 13/01/16 – Skills badge

The Scouts worked towards their skills badge by having an evening of learning how to sew on a badge, iron their necker, change light bulbs, change a bike tyre and also how to clean toilets.

Apache Scouts – Christmas Dinner

Apache Scouts celebrated their first Christmas in style. Working within their patrols and using different cooking methods, they worked together to plan, coordinate and cook a Christmas dinner for us all.
