Congratulations to the 2022 Hessle Explorers Fells Marathon Team – James, Sam, Henry and Lois – on winning their competition, as well as a big thanks to all their adult support.

The Fells Marathon is a two-day hiking competition for Scouts and Explorer Scouts. Carrying full kit for the two days, the Explorer Scout teams walk about 26 miles. This year the competition was held in the northern area of the North Yorkshire Moors in bright but very cold weather – snow on the ground but fantastic views in the sunshine.

Of the five teams to enter Hessle Explorers were the only team to complete the whole hike in 14 hours and 1 minute, a fantastic achievement for them.
