Cherokee Summer Camp

on

Cherokee Cubs had a great time at their summer camp at Walesby Forest. On Saturday morning after cooking pancakes on an open fire for breakfast, they did crate stacking and a cave maze.  In the afternoon they had fun on the water, including canadian canoes and water fights.  Everyone was soaked, including the leaders.  Tea was again cooked on the fires – pasta bolognese and garlic bread,  In the evening we joined Belton Scout Group and our former leader Baggy, at a campfire with lots of singing and hot chocolate.  On Sunday we cooked our breakfast on open fires again, sausage, bacon and eggy bread and then packed up our tents ready for home.  Ice creams on the way home were very welcome on a warm afternoon.  Everyone returned home grubby, exhausted but very happy.
