This week we continued to work towards our Disability Awareness Badge. We started the night off by playing 1 handed pass the parcel which the Beavers found very difficult to not use their other hand!

We lost our eyesight for part of the night and had to use our other senses such as touch, smell and taste to identify objects and foods. We tested out how accessible the Scout Den was for someone with a physical disability and talked about how it could be improved. We also tried to put ourselves in the shoes of someone who had lost a limb by performing everyday tasks such as picking things up and writing but not in the conventional way.
