Pond Dipping

on

This week the Beavers were out and about at Noddle Hill Nature Reserve to have a go at some pond dipping!

Mark, a park ranger from Hull City Council, came down with all the equipment needed and showed us how to catch some creatures out the water. The Beavers then had to identify, with the help of picture charts, any creatures that they found.

He was very impressed that we managed to catch 2 water scorpions. This is only the second time they have been caught this year! Afterwards all the animals were returned back to their home in the pond.

Thank you very much to Mark for coming down, and to the parents that stayed to help too. The Beavers had a great time!
