As a fund raising exercise Hessle Scout Group had a sponsored walk. This was no ordinary Sponsored Walk. This was a 20 mile Sponsored Walk, “The Beverley 20” arranged my Scout Leader Sean Bell. The group members were dropped off at The Black Mill on Beverley Westwood. The challenge was to walk back to The Black Mill at Hessle via Skidby & Welton. The event was supported by about 60 group members. The Cubs were invited to join at the 12 mile mark. However two Cubs Nick Potter aged 9 & William Symes aged 8 managed to complete the full walk. A great achievement considering Nick & William completed the full walk without the help of the support vehicles. Fund raising exercises like this are essential in order to maintain The Group’s facilities & equipment.
